Ningwood & Shalfleet WI Centenary Celebrations
Ningwood & Shalfleet Women’s Institute (WI) on the Isle of Wight held its Centenary Exhibition on May 19th 2019.
The Women's Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War.
Just four years later, on 19th May 1919, Ningwood & Shalfleet WI was formed and has been in existence ever since.
Ningwood & Shalfleet WI meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 2.00 pm at Corf Farm, Shalfleet. We have a range of activities planned throughout the year.
We are a small, friendly group following in the footsteps of our predecessors and anxious to continue and maintain our un- broken record of 100 years of a WI presence in Ningwood & Shalfleet.
